We tackled Mt Abrupt during our five weeks in Dunkeld and quickly discovered why it’s considered one of the most rewarding hikes in the southern Grampians.
Here’s a collection of our favourite moments from the walk.

We started at The Piccaninny (Bainggug) car park.
Walk down the dirt road with the water treatment plant on your right and you’ll soon see the start of the track on the right-hand side (shown in Image 2).
We finished at the Mt Abrupt car park, so you’ll need to arrange transport back to your starting point if you’re completing the walk this way.
